COMPONENTS OF AVC
Series Transformer
In most of the cases, the construction used for series transformer is core type. It is connected in either star or delta. Input as well as the output is taken from the secondary and primary is connected to the rollers of the regulator limbs. Its main function is to either add or subtract the voltage coming in it and goes to the regulator and bring out a stabilized output voltage. Winding is of electrolytic copper strips with proper insulation is provide to save the losses.
REGULATOR
It is of core type in case of balanced and shell type in case of unbalanced construction, either in star or delta. A minimum of two rollers/Brushes are connected to each of the limb depending upon the load current. These rollers/Brushes slide onto the winding of the regulator to increase or decrease the voltage to get the desired output voltage.

Control Panel
It is the main controller of AVC. It does so by the help of Microprocessor based Controller (Latest Technology). Our controller consists of all electrical protections like
- High voltage
- Low Voltage
- Phase Reversal
- Phase Sequence
- Neutral Break
WORKING
Any change in input supply appears at o/p which is sensed by control circuit. The circuit generates a signal according to the variation in input. This signal operates the motor in desired direction to achieve the set output voltage. The motor with the gear assembly moves chain system which moves carbon roller assembly on the coil. As rollers move on both sides of coils simultaneously, the potential difference between the two rollers changes with the movement of rollers. This change in P.D changes the voltage input to primary of series transformers which induces required voltage in secondary to give constant output voltage.
